Description

The swirling colors of this marbled maroon bangle have hints of red, white, and grey that highlight the predominately deep maroon color. The color, combined with its asymmetrical shape, creates a bold and beautiful bangle bracelet. A picture of it, albeit it in a different color, is featured on page 44 of Lyn Tortoriello and Deborah Lyons' book, Plastic Bangles, which was published in 2005. It’s likely from the l980s.

Overall it’s in very good vintage condition for its 30+ years of existence, with only a few light scratches and a very small extra “dabble” in the interior in one spot. The bangle sizes as an 8” bracelet, meaning it has an internal 8” circumference. So, depending on how you like a bangle to fit it’s likely that on most 6.5-7” wrists it should fit nicely. I have a 6” wrist and it slips down a bit more than I’d like. The internal diameter is 2.5”. The bangle is .1” at its widest; .5” at its narrowest. The pictures offer greater perspective on the condition and vintage charm of this marbled bangle bracelet.

FAQs

Some pieces I clean, others I don’t. However, the majority of items are presented as found. There are a variety of collectors and collectible pieces, and an equal number of opinions about whether a particular vintage item should or shouldn’t be cleaned or repaired. I err on the side of being conservative here, wanting you to decide how to treat your item. There’s plenty of information available online that will help you determine the best way to clean, preserve, or treat any vintage item.
