About

A Toy Maker's Tale

I first began making props after encountering some great juggling sticks while working at the Southern California Renaissance Faire, roughly 8 to 9 years ago. They set a bar of quality for me that just wasn't upheld by many of the skill toys I saw my friends with. Many of my friends were flow artists and I hated to see them overpaying for props that seemed sub-par to me. I mostly made flow toys for myself and friends at that time, from the time I worked in construction until I finished college. At that point a choice arose to either quit making props and concentrate on a different job, or to go full time and follow my heart building high quality toys for people. My wife and I decided to go full time, finding a heavy lack in attractive and cost effective practice toys in the market. I pride myself in making high-quality and affordable skill toys, for both practice and fire play, that are great for the newbie or veteran flow artist.

  • RJ Olson

    Owner, Creator, Customer Service

Graduated with a degree in Cultural Anthropology, but chose to follow my heart and become a toy maker instead. I have been spinning fire for over 8 years now, but take more joy in seeing others with the props I have made than spinning myself.

  • Christina Olson

    Creator, Designer

I've been spinning for roughly five years, and helped refine the design of the staffs over that time. I really enjoy doing the decorative work on the shafts of the staffs and making them not just functional, but beautiful as well.

  • Lizzy Wilson

    Photographer, Marketer, Assistant

I have a degree in International Business, concentrated in Russian, and am relatively new to the flow scene. I am a natural photographer, and occasionally help with production when orders are swamped. I also write the blog on our website.

We believe in making quality skill toys for ourselves and our friends. Practice contact staves, fire staves, fire juggling sticks, fire poi, and many more types of equipment.

Based in North Texas, we believe we are one of the first groups dedicated to the production and sale of fire based props and flow toys in our state, hoping to provide quality products for many years to come.

We started making skill and fire toys around 5 years ago. Whether we are spinning fire or plain contact skill toys, it is our passion.

Every one of the skill toy designs that we craft have been rigorously play tested and have our seal of approval. Our toys are ready to share with the community.

-"Flow is a practice in the same way medicine is a practice . : ) it's not all about the fire . It's about the place between your mind and body where both fall into harmony ."-
